Helping Hands Come Together for Day of Caring

On a day when Tampa Bay’s heat index soared past 100 degrees on October 18, more than 2,000 volunteers’ t-shirts were sweat-soaked from more than150 Day of Caring projects. Many volunteers were paint-splattered; others showed evidence of their physical labor with dirt and mulch still clinging to them.

But regardless of the project these dedicated volunteers toiled, one thing rang true across Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties – people want to lend a hand in their community to help others. And that’s what United Way’s Day of Caring is all about – people helping people.
